Rodley Nature Reserve Visit

I have recently come across a nature reserve about 10-15 minutes away from where I live called Rodley Nature Reserve. It's a beautiful open area with two big ponds where plenty of wildlife flourish, ranging from swans to moorhens to kingfishers to blue tits.

My first visit was last week and boy was it a good start to what will become a beautiful relationship with this place. I spent a good chunk of the day photographing and one of the subjects was a kingfisher who was more than happy to pose for a few photos. Here is the best one of the bunch I took.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed seeing the other wildlife there as much as I did with the kingfisher, BUT I have up until that point last week never been able to photograph one so it was a great moment for me to be able to snap it in all it's glory,

My second visit was just as delightful as the first and this was proven by the fact I managed to take a photograph of a great tit. I am no bird expert but when I saw it, I just knew it was a great tit. Here it is.

Hopefully in the coming months or so, I will be able to photograph many more wildlife and I cannot wait to see butterflies flying around again after what seems like an age with winter.

Thanks for reading my blog. I'll update again soon :)

Welcome to my blog!

Hey there!

My name is Mariette and I am going to blog each journey I go on which involves me getting lost in a beautiful world we call nature. I will be picturing each moment as I go along and this can involve trees, birds, animals or the weather.

So sit back and enjoy this wonderful ride :)

P.S , here's a sneaky hint :D
